Flare Preparedness is written and edited by Trevor Jon. Our mission is calm, factual household preparedness, grounded in primary sources including NOAA, CDC, EPA and FDA. We distinguish observations, forecasts and estimates, and follow official guidance.
Editorial Standards
Sources and review dates appear with our guides. Estimates are labeled, and product specifications are separate from hands-on testing. Report errors through our contact page; we review corrections and update affected guidance. For an emergency, follow your utility and local officials.
